Adding units of time in 2007

Does anyone know how to add different amounts of time in autosum? I need a fmula that will calculate total time from different amounts used; 3 mnutes 30 seconds (3:30) and 4 mins 23 seconds (4:23)
Any ideas?

how is your data formatted? As real time or text that looks at time ? If unsure try =istext(cell_with_time)
