Constant random crashes

Last week i got a blue screen error (running XP) with excel open and now it wont stay open for more than ten mins at a time. no warning, no error just closes at random times. There isnt any particlar action I'm doing when it crashes can even be away from comp and it goes down. Any ideas or is my comp the problem? Only thing I can think of is that I've got about 10GB of excel docs on this comp but never heard of that being an issue.

Have run diagnostic and says everything is fine.

Plz help if you can as Excel is kinda my hobby

Are you saying that Excel closes, but all other processes on the computer continue to run normally?

A blue screen occurs when the OS detects that some potentially dangerous situation has occurred, such as some hardware or driver trying to access something it shouldn't. To my knowledge it is generally not causeed by application software issues. Sometimes the situation is transient and never happens again, sometimes you need to update drivers.

What diagnostic did you run?

I would suggest that you make sure your virus detection software is up to date and perform a scan. I would also consider uninstalling and reinstalling Excel, if that is the only application causing problems.
