    Can't update the formula

    Hi,

I have downloaded an excel template from a website (can't remember which website), it is an invoice template. I have inserted a new cell and I am trying to update the formula in total column to deduct the payment received and I get the following error. I have tested formula else where and it's working fine but it's not letting me edit the formula in the invoice spreadsheet. Please Help

The Shaded Cell Contain formulas and are calculated automatically by Excel. DO NOT enter any information in to them.

    Re: Can't update the formula

Hi Martin, I have attached the file.

The formula should be if D18 is not blank then multiply D18 with L18 and subtract K18 in the cell M18

    d18*L18-k18

those cells are protected using data validation
you can clear that by selecting the relevant blue cells and data/validation clear all
not sure what it will do to the code in the workbook as the vba is protected.
but you can use it as is
