Insert Character/Symbol At The Start of Each Word

    Hi,

I've got a list of phrases on separate lines and I'd like to insert a hyphen at the start of each phrase. How do I do that quickly? Either in word or excel. For some reason the ^l and ^p function isn't working (in word).

Running Windows 2007 with Office 2007.

    Thanks,
    Alex

    In an adjacent column, enter"

    ="-"&A1 copied down.

    where A1 contains first phrase

Then you can copy that column and go to original and do Paste Special | Values over it.

    Then delete the formula column.
Where there is a will there are many ways.
