Find and Replace in a Formula

    Hello,

I know enough about Excel to just be dangerous. I hope someone can help steer me in the right direction. This is my question:

First, I am using Excel 2000.

I have a field of Postal addresses (PO Box ##) and a field of street addresses.

I'd like to find and select the Postal addresses and replace the field of street addresses with the Postal address. Then I can do my mail merge.

This is what I have tried: I've use the If function to select the field of Postal addresses if it equals PO Box. But I couldn't get the wildcard (*) to work. I could get this to work in a test of just entering an exact match such as PO Box 55.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

I think for people to assist further you will need to provide a small representative sample showing both "before" and "after".... a lack of response generally indicates a lack of detail.

    I'm guessing wildly here...
    =IF(ISERR(SEARCH("PO Box",POBoxfield)),streetadressfield,POBoxfield)
