Hi there,
Please see sample XL file attached which demonstrates my issue with some jpegs though you will need access to XL07 and XL10 to validate the problem firsthand.
It seems that Excel 2010 has changed the way it handles vertically-centered wrapped text compared to the way Excel 2007 handles it.
Essentially, if the text length exceeds the space available within a fixed width/height cell XL10 pushes the top half of the top line of text out of view and similarly pushes the bottom half of the lower line of text out of view.
This does not look pretty and is completely impractical.
When text length exceeds the available space in XL07, top and bottom text lines are not cut off at the knees.
I upgraded from XL07 to XL10 recently and my previously correctly formatted and readable sheets are looking fairly poorly and I cannot correct this using standard formatting tools it seems.
Has anybody else experienced this issue and is there any way to have text centered vertically in XL10 in a fixed width/height cell where
a) all available space is occupied and where
b) top and bottom lines are not cut off
when the text length exceeds the viewable cell space. (Shrink to fit not an option.)
Thanks for looking
Orson.
