    Thumbs down Input Text Automatically

I am preparing three sheets to be used for a knockout competition. As the competition advances and teams win/lose etc, I want the winners' names to automatically appear in the appropriate cell on the next sheet.

    Example:

Sheet 1, Cell M4. "Watford" is the winner. I want the word "Watford" to automatically appear in Sheet 2, Cell C6.

I have tried what I thought was the obvious =TEXT(Sheet1! M4) but this is no good.

Can someone please give me the formula for this?

    TIA for any help.

    Re: Input Text Automatically

Thanks, zbor... I had used that without success. However, after your advice, I checked the cell format and it was set to "Text". "General" works fine. I should have seen that much sooner. Thanks again.
