Is there anyway to have a custom format to multiply a number by 1 million? Like if I type in 4.252 it shows up as $4,252,000 etc.

No, you can't do that with a format. You can only go the other way.
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate
You can format cells as: [$$-409]#.##0,000 000
(maybe you'll need to switch , and . )
Never use Merged Cells in Excel
zbor that
[$$-409] bit what does it do ? as far as i'm aware that causes problems in 2007 with default format of workbook. and best thing is to delete any custom formats starting with that.

I have no idea.. I've just copy from custom format box since it was working for me
A simple VBa solution might be
1/. Format column A > Accounting > symbol > $
2/. Put this code in the Sheet Module for the Sheet you need to "Format"
Numbers entered in Column A will be a real value, not just a formatted display value. Please Login or Register to view this content.
To enter the code in the correct sheet module.
Right click on the sheet tab you require then click > view code
Paste all of the code in the resultant pane, (this is the Worksheet Module)
Hope this helps.
