how to put objects in the background "behind" cells

I have several objects that are transparant to semi-transparant in my workbook. Some are charts some are graphic shapes. Is it possible to send them in the background of the excel cells themselves?

So, let's say I have a chart taking up the whole screen. Ideally what I'd like to do is, instead of scrolling to a desired cell, be able to click anywhere on the screen and be able to select a cell (instead of selecting the chart). Is this possible? I'd still like to keep the chart as a chart vs. an image.

    Thanks

You either quit or become really good at it. There are no other choices.

Drawing objects are always in front of cells.

No. Objects on the sheet are on a layer above the cells.

You might be able to use an image of the chart as the sheets background but it will be applied to the whole sheet in a tiled effect.

OK, thanks. How would I set it as a background?

First save the chart as a image. Select the chart and then goto the VBE (ALT+F11). In the immediate window (CTRL+G) type

Please Login or Register to view this content.
then use ribbon Page Layout > Page Setup > Background. Browse and select recently exported file
