    how to drag countifs formula without changing one of the criteria

    Hi, have an issue here, how do i able to drag the countifs formula without changing one of the criteria, for example:

    Ship owners Bulker
    ALP =COUNTIFS(Data!A:A,B19,Data!I:I,D1)
    NOL =COUNTIFS(Data!A:A,B20,Data!I:I,D1)

    Try

    =COUNTIFS(Data!$A:$A,$B19,Data!$I:$I,$D$1)

    further to Bob's solution - be sure to check out the XL help files regards: relative, absolute, and mixed references

    (very important to understand this if you are using XL regularly)
