How to change x-axis of bubble chart to non-numeric values?

    Hello,

I am trying to change the x-axis of my bubble chart to non-numeric values - File is attached for your reference.

How do I do this? I use Excel 2007 and have tried all options but to no avail. I am basically trying to replace the 1,2,3 etc (default values) on the x-axis of the bubble chart with say (Apple, HP, Samsung, Intel etc).

    Please help.

    Thanks....

    Can you post your spreadsheet?
You either quit or become really good at it. There are no other choices.

Add another series and link the data labels to the text in order to mimic a text axis.

Use this free addin to do the linking of cells to data

    Hi Andy,

Thank you very much for your assistance. I did not realize that it's against the BB rules to post in multipe forums. I'll avoid this in future.

That said, your solution has worked well. One follow up question I do have is 'how did you link the text (of cell phone companies) in Column K to the chart? I have not been able to replicate that aspect. For eg, if I change 'Apple' in cell $K$3 to say 'Intel', that change is reflected on the chart. When I try to do this in a same chart that I have created - it does not work. I have to use text labels, which is not dynamic - meaning I have to manually change 'Apple' to 'Intel'. Is there some step that I am missing?

    Thanks much in advance.

    Regards,
    -Laxman

Can we do it without using add-id?

    Hello All,

Can you please help in creating a bubble chart for the data shared. The bubble size should be as per the number of deals. X-Y axes should be the deal range and Years (2015 & 2019) Finding it difficult as both the axes are non-numeric.

    Thanks in advance!

Deal Value 2015 (Number of Deals) 2019 (Number of Deals)
    1-5 Mn 17 19
    6-25 Mn 12 9
    26 - 50 Mn 11 23
    51-75 Mn 13 25
    75-100 Mn 24 38
