    Drawing Floorplans

I am forced by office policy to draw floor plans in Excel rather than any of the nice drafting programs out there.

    I know.

Anyway, I am wondering whether anyone has come up with a set of tips, tricks, procedures, icons, macros, etc., to facilitate this very sort of task.

By the way, beyond recording keystrokes I haven't written any macros since Lotus 123, therefore not savvy in this area.

    Thank you.

    Re: Drawing Floorplans

I've done this and it's a pain. First I select the sheet and set row height to 9 and column to 1 to make a nice graph paper. Select a scale (1 cell = 6 inches) Adjust as necessary. Then I create furniture using Excel's drawing tools and mass produce them using copy paste. These pieces of furniture can be rotated, dragged and dropped. Also you can group shapes to make more complex shapes or link text boxes with shapes or keep certain pieces together and then move them as a group. I hope that helps. Good luck.
