I have been a casual user of excel for the last 20+ years. Before that I was a power user of Lotus 1-2-3 and Symphony. Now I am trying to go deeper into Excel and get it to do things i want..but find that the feature list is so long - and many of the terms have changed - that it is difficult.
I want to make an application to help me take attendance every day in my college sophomore class. I want to create a series of radio knobs that I can just click on to take attendance. Each row will have the student's name, then there will be one **** (or check box) i can click on if the student is present, one if the student is tardy, one if the student has the appropriate materials, etc. Each one of these radio knobs or checkboxes has to correspond to a numeric value somehow. For example, if I check the "present" box/****, this should translate into 10 points. The tardy box should translate into -4 points, the materials box into +4 points, etc.
Can this be done? Can someone point me in the right direction to get started?
