Excel 2007 : Numbers and Letters

I am using Excel 2007 and have opened a new spreadsheet only to find numbers across the top of the spreadsheet as well as down the side, how can I change back to letters across the top that I normally used to with Excel 2003?

It sounds as though the R1C1 option is active - go to Excel Options -> Formulas -> uncheck "R1C1 Reference Style"
