    Pop up reminder

I have an excel file that we use to create reports for our clients. I need to have a pop up or some other reminder to help my staff remember to verify information if they enter a specific code in certain columns. I am already using the data validation function to ensure that they only enter valid codes in the applicable columns but there are about 40 codes that need additional information.

So for example: if in column A they enter 413.0, 413.1, 413.9, 786.50, 786.51 or 786.52 I need a messge to pop up that says "Enter PQRI code if applicable".

As a plan B conditional formating might work but I cant figure out now to apply conditional formating to a whole column for a list of codes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Re: Pop up reminder

Have you considered using the "Input Message" feature along with Data Validation? If you open the Data-- Validation dialog box, there should be 3 tabs, with the second tab being named 'Input Message.' If you use this feature, you can have a pop-up appear whenever the cell is selected that displays relevant information.

Let me know if this helps. If not, we can try for a better solution.

    Re: Pop up reminder

I played with it some but there are 14,315 codes that they may be entering into 6 different columns on the spreadsheet but only 40 of those codes need a reminder to pop up. We do about 2000 rows per day so to have a input message popup 6 times per row is gonna get a little irritating.

I originally thought I could use the data validation process but I think I can only have one validation function per cell. If I add the new one it removes the old one.

Any other thought would be greatly appreciated.
