Question How To Arrange Data Into Transposed Format?

This is very much beyond my knowledge of Excel for now, so I would love to get some help if possible.

The problem originates from the fact that my source data is reported as such:

    Customer ID...Answer
    234234...A
    234234...B
    234234...C
    456455...A
    456455...B
    644334...B

I would like to get this transposed in a table so that I can make a pivot table from it. Example:

    Customer ID....A....B....C
    234234...Yes...Yes...Yes
    456455...Yes...Yes...No
    644334...No...Yes...No

With my fairly limited knowledge, I cannot think of a solution that would take the original data and re-arrage or re-create it in the format I need. Obviously I am talking about automation because I could be dealing with thousands of customers, not just 3. Unfortunately there are no options to manipulate the format of the report.

    Any ideas?

Ah, very good. But I forgot to omit one important problem. Allow me to redefine the desired output:

    Source:

    Customer ID...Answer
    234234...A
    234234...B
    234234...C
    456455...A
    456455...B
    644334...B
    644334...E

    Output:

    Customer ID....A....B....C...D...E
    234234...Yes...Yes...Yes...No...No
    456455...Yes...Yes...No...No...No
    644334...No...Yes...No...No...Yes

Do you see? "D" does not appear in the source, but it still needs to be considered as part of the data.

    perhaps like this
you need to extract an unique list of customer id's first
easily done by selecting col a then data/advanced filter/unique records only choose the copy to another location option and pick a cell to copy to i just chose E2
