Auto Populate Cells Dependant on Information in Previous Cell

    Hello,

I do not have much experience with Microsoft Excel, and I am not certain that this is a possibility. I have Microsoft Excel 2003.

Question: How do I make a cell auto populate based on the information selected in a previous cell.

Example: Let's say I had 10 players on a soccer team and players names were submitted in column A. Column B had information such as "goals" "assists" "minutes" etc.

I would like Column C to auto populate with the players statistics in Column C based on the name chosen in Column A.

    Is this a possibility?

These statistics come from a second table of data somewhere, perhaps on another sheet?

These are typically accomplished with VLOOKUP() formulas. Read up on that function in Excel (press F1).
