Sorting a dataset with another using date and time

    Hi can anyone help me?

I have a large dataset with records organised by date and time with a 10 min resolution. I need to subdivide the dataset into hourly intervals from a given time which changes twice daily. I am having a real problem doing this and to do it manually will take a very long time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    More Detailed Information

The data is velocity and direction of tide, taken over a 30 day period, as mentioned with a 10 min resolution. What I want to do is relate the recorded data into hourly bins from the time of high water on each day. There are two high tides each day and I have the times of these in a separate table. I want to use these times of high water to divide up my dataset. For example: day 1 has recorded data every 10 mins, high tide is at 09:12:00 hrs. I want to be able to select all the data which falls between 09:12:00hrs and 10:12:00hrs and then 11:12:00hrs and so on up to six hours after the time of high water.

    cheers
