    Count number of working hours

    Hi,

I am stuck in the middle of a problem. I am trying to calculate the number of working hours between two dates given the day starts at 9:00am and finishes at 16:30pm. So if i start on 29/07/2010 at 15:00pm and finish on the 30/07/2010 at 11:00am. i know that is 3.5 hrs but how can i get excel to calculate it for me.

    A1 contains start time and date i.e. 29/07/2010 15:00pm
    A2 contains finish time and date i.e. 30/07/2010 11:00am.

    C1 contains begin time i.e 9:00am
    C2 contains finish time i.e. 16:30pm.

I'm assuming there are no holidays so donot worry about holidays. Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thank You.

Re: Count number of working hours

Is this 7 days a week, Mon-Fri or other ?

If there are non-working days - is it possible for either start/end to fall on a non-working day ?

It's a Mon-Fri week but the start can fall on a non-working day but end cannot fall on a non-working day.

    Thank You.

    One possibility:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
Note: above utilises NETWORKDAYS function which prior to Excel 2007 requires activation of the Analysis ToolPak via Tools -> Add-Ins.
