    Bradford factor period calculation

    Hi

I am trying to compile a bradford factor sheet and I have hit a wall when it comes to the periods od absence.
I need a formula that will count days absent all at once as one period.
I have enclosed the sheet I am using. It is the last column on the front sheet I am struggling with.
    Has anyone got any ideas?

Hi and welcome to the board

I don see any problems on your sheet. Could you explain what you need exactly? Something like =COUNTIF(B8:CM8,">0") ( for row 8?)

In column CO I need to calculate the total periods of sickness. At the moment they are just manually typed in.
I have tried the COUNTIF formulae but I need it to not count if the previous cell is in the same range of sickness.

    Re: Bradford factor period calculation

I need something along the lines of COUNTIF (range of cells) is higher than 0 but not if the previous cell in the range is higher than zero.
But I don't have a clue how to do this

    Re: Bradford factor period calculation

    Perhaps

    CO2:
    =SUMPRODUCT(--(C2:CM2>0),--(B2:CL2=0))+SIGN(B2)
    copied down

though the results of the above don't tie out exactly to the values in your sample...

For ex. row 8 you show 6 whereas there appear to be 5 - it may be we're missing part of the logic if 6 is indeed the correct value.
