    Advanced Filter with multiple criteria

    Hello,

I'm currently using an Advanced filter to search a spreadsheet for lottery results.

Each person has 4 numbers and have 3 lines with 4 numbers on each line.

    I have attached the file.

What I'm trying to do is to filter for people who had 3 number from their 4. I set up the criteria range like below but it doesn't work 100%. The first time I tried it, it worked fine but then some options didn't work. Any help greatly appreciated.

you will have problems as they are all in the same cells and are treated as text strings. the advanced filter is quite precise in what it matches!

Thanks for that. Maybe I'm being completely stupid but are you saying that it can't be done if they are all in the one cell for the reasons you specified on the attachment. I was aware of the consecutive issue and had tried the wildcards but I was getting something similar.
