    Time Stamp

    Hello,

I have a pivottable that is linked to a query in access and want to add a time stamp to the pivottable to let me know when the last time i refreshed the pivottable.

    Thank you in advance

    Alex

    Re: Time Stamp

I think you'd need to use VBA, though the VBA is incredibly simple.

    Right-click the sheet tab
    View code
    paste this:

Change A1 for whatever you want
    test
    shower me with affection

this will be a problem if you have multiple users (more than, say, 10) - if that's the case we will have to go back to the drawing board

    Re: Time Stamp

Sorry, looks easy but i'm not as good in vba as i should be or could be. I have a worksheet named Data, in it, i have a pivottable named Pivottable1. Can you give me a quick step by step how to set it up one more time please?

Thank you again for your help,

    Alex

    Re: Time Stamp

No probs, I just put very little 'fluff' around my instructions - it's either efficient or brusque depending on whether or not you can follow it... so oops.

Right-click the sheet tab of the sheet with the pivot table in it.
On the menu that pops up, select 'view code'
A window pops up with a large white space (hopefully!) on the right-hand side, copy-paste my three lines of code into there.
Now change the cell address on the middle line to the cell you want your time stamp in
Close this window (don't worry about saving it)
    Now refresh your pivot table

Gosh, being this garrulous exhausts me...

By which I mean, it's fine to come back for more clarification.
