    Automatically prompt for today’s date

    What I’m trying to do is if the letters NMC are in cell H10 I want cell I10 to insert today’s date or have a message pop up asking you to insert a today’s date in that cell

    It could be

    =IF(H10,TODAY(),"")

    But remember TODAY is volatile, ie it will update automatically
    Hope that helps.

    That help out, this is the formula I have now =IF(H10= "nmc",TODAY(),"") is there any way to get it to calculate the date only once and not daily?
