    Exclamation Pivot Tables ?

    Hi

I have created a client spreadsheet and I want to know if I can double-click on a cell to bring up certain information? As I have lots of different departments and client contacts, putting everyones direct numnbers/email addresses would be too large, and too many fields on the spreadsheet.

E.g. click on a client name to bring up contact details such as an email address or telephone number? If so, how do I do this? Semi-novice with excel.

At the moment I have just created comments under the names, so when I hover over the field it brings up a little box. But would wondered if there was any other alternative methods?

    Thanks

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution. Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.
    Hope that helps.

    Re: Pivot Tables ?

    SORRY!

Being new and not actually knowing the name of what exactly I wanted to do - was a little hard to actually describe in a 'specific title'.

Anyway, I think what I want is called a Pivot Table - PLEASE CORRECT ME IF WRONG again....

Can a pivot table be done for clicking on a client's name to bring up telephone numbers/email addresses etc? What is the easiest way to do this?

    Re: Pivot Tables ?

Hi and welcome to the board

In your case a Pivot table, is not the way to go. That is actually why we ask to describe the problem in the title, not the solution you think is best.

One of the possibilities to answer your question is using a drop down box to select the Name, and info comes up with a Vlookup in the cells where needed

maybe send a sample sheet ( edit OP, click go advanced and press the "manage attachments" button then follow the wizard) so the layout of your data can be worked on
