    Make a cell static in a formula - $A$1

I was wondering if there is way to have the $ sign added as I pick cells to make a formula without having to edit the formula after I pick the cells. Here's an example: the formula in D1 = A1-B1-$C$1. I started by entering = in D1 then picked A1, hit - key, picked B1, hit - key, then picked C1. When I pick C1 is there something I can do to have excel add the $ signs for me? I have excell 2003.

Yes, Hit F4 after you pick the cell.

Everytime you hit F4, it toggles the $ around.
Where there is a will there are many ways.

Thanks. I looked in the help pages and my Microsoft Excell 2003 book and could not find anything on this topic.

You can find it in various locations on the web:

Google Short Cut keys and Excel
