    Breaking partial Links

Hi, I have a workbook with formulas etc. eg Workbook A

I am wanting to copy a forumla from one workbook to another workbook eg Workbook B

This keeps the links at first to the origional workbook A and then I break the links.

However in the first workbook A the origional formula is linked to the next page in the workbook A, and when I break the links in the new workbook B it breaks all links. so therefore the link to the second page is also broken.

Is their any way to break the links to the first workbook A but the formula remain as a linked formula to the second page of the new workbook as it currently does in the first workbook?

I have had some success with copying the formula to Word and then doing a copy of that and placing in the new workbook but wonder if there is an easier way?

    Example in Workbook A

    =COUNTIF('Sheet3'!$B$3:$B$69,900)

Copied to Workbook B this then links itself to Workbook A which I dont want it to, then I break the links but the link to Sheet3 also gets broken.

    Thanks

    Hello,

instead of copying and pasting the whole cell, try to copy the formula in the formula bar and then paste it into the formula bar of the other workbook. This way, you will not have any specific workbook references, but sheet name references will remain intact.

    cheers

Hum! never mind sorry, if I dont accept any cell until the formula is in it then works when I then chose the cell and hit enter.

    Thanks teylyn
