The easiest way to explain is, conditions need a value, so instead of using nice and ugly, give them a number value, for example:
nice = 1
ugly = 2
so just type in the number and the conditions you set will active. also it will be less typing on your part.

The key to using formulas with CF is that the formula must evaluate to either TRUE or FALSE
So,
=A7="Nice" is a valid formula because it is either TRUE or FALSE
