    sorting values with numbers

    Hi again,

    I have another strange request.

Basically, I have one sheet with a set of item numbers, and their associated OEM numbers.

The next sheet has a list of item numbers that need their corresponding OEM numbers.

Some of the item numbers on the first sheet are not on the second sheet.

AND not every item number has an OEM number.

So...is there a way to get the OEM number information from one sheet to match up with the item numbers on the other sheet?

I have the sheets attached. They are just part of the entire sheet, which has over 8,000 items, I wanted to make the file size smaller for example purposes.

    Many thanks!!

    re: sorting values with numbers

    You mean?

    =VLOOKUP(A2,[itemnumandoem.xls]Sheet1!$A:$B,2,0)

copied down in column B of itemnumsonly.xls
Where there is a will there are many ways.
