Why isn't this short code working?

I've been trying to get this macro to work but it isn't working:

I enter my first name and then it asks for my birthdate. When I type in "(9/13/1978)" I get an run-time error '13': Type mismatch

Did you by chance type the parentheses as part of the date??
I did not and the code ran to completion for me
