VLookup with condition

Hi Guys,

I have a spreadsheet that works out an area from a postcode and then gives a rate based on the area and a age. I have attached the spreadsheet. now it works on the red test sheet, using the red postcodes and rates, but it wont work for the blue test sheet using the blue postcodes and rates.

could anyone help work out the problem and also explain why it hasnt worked?

In this sheet you have a space and number in your SERPOSTCODES sheet... so it is not finding exact matches.... How are those supposed to be handled?

since now you list the actual specific ages in consecutive manner in column A instead of ranges...

Thanks for the quickl reponse. I have tried this and the area works beautifully, but the rate keeps coming up as 25 when i enter a ex36 postcode. i cannot think what i could be doing wrong?
