help 2 criteria matching

I'm Currently stuck with this problem, all inputs will be very much appreciated.

OK heres the problem, i have altleast 2 culumns i want to match colum A(COACH), and B (Attendance). what i want to is to return the number of "YES" in a given cell (A1).

COACH-----------------Attendance
Bill --------------------------Yes
John-------------------------No
ryan ------------------------Yes
