Hi,
So the sheet is protected and has both locked and unlocked cells. They can't edit locked cells but they can lock unlocked cells after they edit them so that the next user can't edit them.
Any suggestions?

I would use Workbook_BeforeClose macro that examines your workbook in the cells of concern and locks the ones that have values in them, then saves/closes the workbook. The next time the wb opens those cells are locked and uneditable.
