    Cell Referencing

I have a very poorly formatted word document I need to make into excel. Did the import but cell pointing will differ based upon number of items in Col A. So I'm taking what's in col a and putting them in col b-i.

Am using the OffSet function but can't get it to work to select 3 rows down. See RED cells in attachment.

    One cell may have this:
    =OFFSET($A20,3,0,1,1)

And when I copy the formula to 5 rows down,
Should be OFFSET($A23,3,0,1,1) but I get OFFSET($A27,3,0,1,1). I want it
to be the number of the last offset cell + 3. If last Offset was $A20, I need to be
    $A23, and after that $A26.

    Re: Cell Referencing

    Hi,

You may find the attached offers a better solution. It relies on you being able to mark the new column A with 1,2,3 etc identifying the first row of a new record.

C1:R1 contain the formulae. Just copy the formulae and extend past column R if you have longer records. Copy C1:R1 down as far as necessary
