Question time and a half working a holiday

I have been working on a timesheet for a few days now and I'm having trouble figuring out a formula to show time and a half for working a holiday. I am using Excel XP. I know the software is older than most of the versions you help out with, but I really need help.

    Thank you in advance

Post a sample file - there's little to work with at this stage I'm afraid.
(ie how are you denoting "holiday" - where is the pay rate stored etc...)

FWIW, XP is an Operating System rather than an Office Suite ... given XP I suspect you're running XL2003 or possibly XL2007

Smile Re: time and a half working a holiday

Thanks for the reply. To answer your questions, I am using Excel 2002 and the pay rate is $11.00 straight time so with time and a half it would be $16.50. The holiday would be any government holiday, which in Canada we call statutory holidays (holidays you are paid for as straight time).

I should have told you this. My employer wants me to record the hours I work myself and fax a copy to him at the end of the work week. I just want to make sure I get paid for working the holiday. Rather than just writing them down on a piece of paper and giving him a copy, I would like to keep my own record in my computer.

I hope I'm explaining myself correctly. I am sending a sample of my workbook so you can see what I'm trying to do.

    Thanks in advance

Take a look. I added in a holiday column to your spreadsheet. Hopefully that can open up some ideas on how you want to do it. You can also us the lookup formulas to look up a holiday.

Question How do I change a timesheet from dayshift to nightshift

You very helpful with my last question. Now I was wondering how I would change this timesheet from dayshift to nightshift. I have tried reversing the formulae, but it will not calculate correctly. Any ideas would help a lot.

    Thanks
