Question Excel 2010 on Satellite L300-29T and F11 problem

Can anyone help solve this problem?

Using Excel 2010, pressing f11 is supposed to make a chart on a new sheet but no chart appears on the new sheet. The shortcut alt f1 works but the chart is on the same sheet as it should. It was installed from the same *** as used on my desktop computer, which works correctly. How do I determine if it's the programme/ computer/ keyboard or what that's stopping this working? Using up to date Windows 7, upgraded from Vista by the Toshiba supplied Win 7 upgrade disk. I've looked for updated video drivers but it says they're up to date.

    TIA

    Hello zeb,

F1 is the shortcut key for opening the Excel help. This has been so in all Excel versions currently in use.

Alt-F1 will create a chart from the selected data in the current sheet.

Ctrl-F1 will toggle the ribbon display.

I'm not sure what keyboard shortcut you are referring to.

Thanks for the quick reply, in Excel 2010 this shortcut is F11

Creates a chart of the data in the current range in a separate Chart sheet

    But on this laptop it only makes a blank Chart1 sheet;
    Blank - no chart shown
    \1

    Data selection
    \1

I have Excel 2010 using Windows 7 and F11 draws a chart for me using both .xlsx and .xls file format.

I suggest you look at customizing function keys in your Toshiba manual first.

Do you toggle a shift key for numLock and functions on your Toshiba? Could this be it?

The F11 key seems to be working as it toggles full screen on my browser OK. There is a FN F11 which Enables / Disables the Number pad and brings on a light on the keyboard. That works too.

Is there a menu command for the shortcut F11?
