    Excel file save

    Hi Guys,

I have a speadsheet that calculates rate on a hidden tab. I have loads of these hidden tabs and they are causing the file to be rather big, so i thought to copy all the hidden tabs onto a seperate spreadsheet (tabs named exactly the same on the new spreadsheet). I have tried to link the formulas to the new spreadsheet, but it doesnt seem to find it. I am using:

    '[RATES&POSTCODES.XLS]LVRATES'!

I was wondering, as the spreadsheets are saved as templates, does it have a different name ie .xxx instead of .xls??

    thanks

    clare

    Hi

Usually templates are .xlt extensions, but if you've derived the formula by selecting a cell in the Rates&PostCodes file then the formula will contain the extension.

What do you see when you close the Rates&PostCodes workbook. The linking formula should now include the drive path & folder.
