Chart graphics are displayed with black dots in Word when a link is created

I have several charts and graphs linked to Word from Excel. I am using 2007 xslx and docx formats for both. When I select a chart design with 3d or depth, the linked file in Word contains black dots where the 3d/depth exists instead of crisp curves. Is there a way to fix this?

Please see this image album which documents the error.

Here is a side by side screencap of what a pie chart will look like. The one on the left is how it looks in excel. The one on the right is how it looks when updated to Word. Word seems to be automatically converting it to a 2003 file, even though I am using Word 2007.

On occasions it is not letting me Paste Special (linked file).

I am in excel, and I create a new chart.

I Ctrl+C this chart in Excel, and then move to Word.

I then click Paste > Paste Special > Paste Link > Microsoft Office Excel Chart Object

Instead of the object i Ctrl+C in Excel, it pasted a different chart. I don't understand why it is doing this. If I just click Ctrl+V in Word, it pasted the right chart.

I have a 2007 excel file that I link to Word 2007... problems

I have an excel 2007 file that I use to create charts and graphs. In a Word 2007 file I have create links to the charts. These are automatically updated just fine, but when I change the update type to manual, Word converts these files to Excel 2003 objects, and the graphics get completely messed up. What is going on here? There is no option for me to specify that they are Excel 2007 objects.

Here is an example of what the graphics look like before and after manually updating the links. http://i.imgur.com/ox88K.png

Is this a different question than your other thread? If not, please resume there.

No it is the same problem but I've learned more about it and my title is more descriptive now. I would rather resume here if thats okay.

This problem does not exist when using the 2010 products. I have recently upgraded and no longer need to know how to solve this problem.
