how to assign days into next cell ?

i want to assign day in front of date column.

for example :

10-sep-10 the next cell should come the day automatically.

like that : 10-sep-10 - Friday

when further changes it should be change automatically.......

Do you mean:

=TEXT(A1,"dddd")

where A1 holds the date ?

(note: you can show the day of a date using a custom number format...)
