    Vlookup combination

Simple question here. I'm sure it's a syntax thing.

Two worksheets, trying to lookup values in column A in sheet 1 with columns A and B in worksheet 2, to output column C in workbook 2.

SO, if a value isn't found in column A, then look in column B. Sounds simple right? Not sure why it isn't returning. I have:

    IF(iserror(Vlookup column A) = "True", Vlookup A, Vlookup B)

Make sense? There must be an easier way to vlookup multiple columns. Thanks!
