    Appear/disappear series in chart

    Hi,
I try to place all my data series on the same chart and look only at two at a time. I have the same population of sample submitted to various conditions and I try to compare the response from each sample in function of 2 of the conditions. Each condition is represented by one serie and I would like to make series to appear or disappear to be able to only get the conditions I'm looking at without removing the other series that I may need to look at later.
To make the story clearer, I have several bacterial clones which I analyze in function of the temperature, the pH, the medium and several other conditions the bacteria are growing in. The numbers I get for each test are belonging to the same serie and I want to compare the conditions to each other (cold temperature vs. high, cold temperature vs. low ph, high pH vs. high salt concentration...) and have the possibility to compare them without having on the picture the results of the other conditions. However I might wish to look at the other conditions later. The only "Excel for dummies trick" I could think about bu still remains time consuming, is to make the series I do not need at that moment transparent on the chart. Is there a way to select the serie, make it disappear from the chart without deleting it.
Thanks for your answer, Regards, Oinot.

I think there is an easy way to do this but I would like to see how your data is organized. Attached is a simple example. In this example, there is a sheet called "Raw Data". This is where you enter your data. In this example there is one column for the independent variable and several columns for various dependent variables. In "Graph Data" formulas take the data from "Raw Data". The second row is used to mark which data should appear in the graph, which is on the third sheet.

If a series is suppressed, it will will appear in the legend as #N/A but the data will not appear on the plot. This is probably suitable for you but may not be suitable for presentation or publication, depending on what you need to do.

Can you attach an example workbook?
