Formula to Show Accounting Month based on a specific date range

I need to come up with a formula to automatically show the accounting month of a certain order based on it's order date

If order date is July 22, 2010, the accounting month column should show July 2010 since July 2010 covers July 5, 2010 to July 30, 2010.

I have two tabs. First tab shows the order details which includes the order date on that tab I need to add accounting period column. I created another tab with a table where column A is the accounting month, column B is the start of the accounting month and column C is the end of the accounting month. Since start and end dates of the accounting period don't always fall on the start and end date of the calendar month, I am thinking of doing a vlookup but i don't know how to proceed. Pls help.

This is really better suited for SQL where it is much easier to have an open ended join with multiple criteria. Have you considered putting all of this into access and creating a query? The query can still be linked (using external data) to excel to ensure it fully refreshes.
