Table names in formula

Still frustrated by absurd assumptions made by MS developers. But, I have unchecked the [ Use table names in formulas], etc. Still getting table names in formulas and [#This Row] that I do not care for either.

How is this bug feature disabled?

Did you create the link prior to disabling the feature ?

(If I disable the feature and subsequently create links to Table objects I do not get Table references)

Yes, the link was created then the discovery and attempt to correct.

Retrospectively it won't convert formula references from Table to Range unless you convert the Table to a Range directly - which given the data is sourced externally you won't want to do (you will lose the connection)

If you re-create the link the Table references should be removed.

BTW: Trying to go to [Edit] [Go Advanced] to identify thread as solved. There is no [Prefix] drop on the subsequent page as directed in Forum Rules.
