    help with doc register logic

How do i get this working on multiple lines?
Line 5 is is all that works so far. The user first selects whether its a “document” or a “drawing”, he then selects the appropriate discipline. Collum E will then show only the appropriate “title of ducment/DWG” once from the users collum D selection.
AS i said, the functionality works for row 5, but when i highlight R5C, R5D, and R5E, then pull down, the functionality is lost.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    thank you

You can't get INDIRECT() formulas and Dynamic Name Ranges to play nice together. In this situation you get much more functionality out of Dependent Drop Down functionality using INDIRECT() data validation lists. This means any time you make a change to the entries on the "LISTS" page you will need to manually update the named range as well. That's a small price to pay for this functionality.

I've relaid out your LISTS so that each distinct list is in its own column. Each range has a single word "name" found for reference at the top of the column. Electrical Engineer, for instance, is uniquely named Electrical.

With that in place, your REGISTER first 3 columns are interactive with Dependent Drop downs. Once you make a choice in column C the column D list becomes available. Column E becomes available once column D choice is made.

If you go back and change a prior choice in C or D, the entry in the following column will disappear from view (using conditional formatting to color the font white) so as to remind you to change that column as well.
