Adding together numbers in a column, based on two adjacent criteria?

Hi,

I have a spreadsheet which has values down columns I'd like to add together. The problem I face is that I wish to add cells that relate to a repeated subheading beside each value, which I can achieve with a Sumif, but I also only want the calculation to carry on down the column, if the date (which I have placed adjacent to each cell value) is less than or equal to 'todays' date.

I'm confusing myself.

That's a sample spreadsheet. I want to basically add up all the '2009 - 2010 (Actual)' values each week, but I only want to do so up to the current date (each week, ongoing). This is because I want to compare the values of '2009 - 2010 (Actual)' with '2010 - 2011 (Actual)' to see the difference, to date.

I'm stuck!
