Smile If certain color then sum=

Hi anyone who can help me!!

I am trying to write a simple formula that will total a sum of only the boxes that are a certain color. This has to be an if formula, as the color of the boxes change according to the status of that account.

Is this possible? I am using Excel 2007

Thank you for any help you can give me!

    Pam

This cannot just be done with a formula, formulas work with values, not colors. This can be done with VBA though.

Are the colors made with conditional formatting, or is there a color criteria?

If the colours are produced with conditional formatting, then you could possibly use the same formula/criteria.

Otherwise, as Dave says, it's VBa.

Thank you DavesExcel and Marcol. I really don't want to get into VBA with this one. My manager just wanted it for something that is temporary, and he is changing the colors in the cells as he needs to manually.

I was afraid it wasn't possible without VBA.

    Appreciate your help though! :-)

You can add a filter in first row. Then filter out values by color and use SUBTOTAL function (SUBTOTAL, 109, range)
