    Highlight column if todays date

    Morning All,

    In cell D2 through to to CQ2 I have dates running throughout the year. I can highlight the cell which shows todays date but would also like to highlight all the other cells in that column through to row 66.

    I'm using Excel 2003 by the way.

    Anyone help please???

    Thank you
    Scott

    Use conditional formatting on al of the target cells with a formula of

    =$D2=TODAY()

    Bob,

    This doesn't appear to have done anything.

    I have already highlighted the cell on the worksheet that shows todays date, but I also want it to highlight all of the cells below.

    I'd upload an example, but as I'm at work they don't allow me!

    Regards
    Scott

    Hi Scott,
    what Bob means is to select your range D2 - CQ2 and enter the cond formatting as suggested. then of course set the formatting you need

    Sorry, I don;t think I have explained myself clearly enough.

    I have managed to attach a file that shows what I am after. You will see that everything in the column where todays date appears is highlighted.

    Thanks for your patience! Scott

    Marcol,

    Thanks very much. This works, but any cell which has no data within it does not take on the formatting.

    Is there a way of saying regardless of there being any data in the cell, it will have the formatting.

    Re: Highlight column if todays date

    I assumed that there would never be blank cells in your table and your other formats would be applied as fitting.

    The formula is based on your table growing up to row 66.

    If however you want all the qualifying column up to row 66 to be formatted red, then change the formula to

    =B$3=TODAY()

    Note the position of the $ anchor.

    Hope this helps

    In the future add a sample sheet directly, this will avoid unnecessary time loss

    Happy to have been of help, but Arthur is correct, always try to include a sample workbook with your queries.
