    Combine Function?

This is probably a very basic questions, but I can't seem to find the answer online anywhere.

What I have is two sides of a financial statement. One side is for this month's information and the other side is for year to date information. My boss uses Lotus and showed me a nice function that she can do to Combine and add the entire right side figures for the month with the entire left side year to date figures.

I can't seem to figure out how to do this in Excel.

    Re: Combine Function?

I have found that I can select my month data and use the paste special command to add this data to the year to date side... but one unfortunate thing I've found is that this doesn't work nicely with formulas. If I am summing a column on one side and summing it on another side then after I add them, it sums the column twice!

Is there a different way to do this or is this just an annoyance in Excel that isn't present in Lotus? When we do this in Lotus I can combine an entire range and it will leave formulas in tact.
