Identifying link spreadsheets

Hi

I may be hoping for the impossible here but we shall see. Basically, my organisation relies very, very heavily on linked Excel spreadsheets.. Some call data from other spread sheets which call data from other spread sheets and so on.... Unfortunately, i have been tasked with working out what links to what and tidying up the data structure i.e. archiving and restructuring wherever possible and I need to be abale to see what calls from what etc...

Is there such a beast that can do what i require or is it a case of manually checking what links to what? I am not a user of excel in any great anger by the way.

Maybe this will help you,

In Excel 2010,
Click Data,
Under Connections, Click Edit Links

There you can see what it linked in this workbook

That will definately help thanks but I am really looking for something i can use at a higher level that will query a folder structure containing hundreds of spread sheets?! I think i may be hoping for a miracle; in which case your suggestion is what i am going to have to do manually for hundreds of sheets!

Another trick to find what link to what :
Close all workbooks except the one you want to find the links in.
Press Ctrl+F
Click Options.
In Find what box, enter [.
In Within box, click Workbook.
In Look In box, click Formulas.
Click Find All.
To select the cell with a link, select the row in the box at the bottom.
