how to hide information in the corner?

I want to how to put information in the corner of a cell, the information is only displayed when clicked on.

Thanks for the reply. However Data Validation is no good in my case because I want to hide information (mainly legends) about formulas so I need to be able to input Mathematical symbols etc and Date Validation does not let me do that. Is there another way?

I don't know why data validation does not let you do that.
Give me sample sheet

Just open new excel workbook and test it out, see if you can get mathematical symbols and signs into the Input message box.
