    format not staying same

Hi, I have sheet 1, I want text to be inserted automaticly onto sheet 2, 3, 4,5. If i use =T it copies what is in that cell and inputs it to the correct text but will not wrap text automaticly!! I have set the destination sheets format to wrap text but no luck. Any Ideas

If the destination cell is set to wrap text then text there by virtue of a formula should be wrapped.

Do you see only the first line of text, or do the see the entire text extending in the next cell to the right? If you only see the first line of text, one possibility is that the row height is too small to show the wrapped text. If the text extends to the right then the format is not set to wrap text.

With questions like these that present a problem very specific to your situation, you will get better answers if you attach your workbook.

If you are using Office 2003 you have to write click the cell and select wrap.

Your formatting is correct; text wrap is turned on for those cells. However, when the text is added to the "Labour and Materials" source, sheet, the row height of the referencing sheets does not automatically expand to show all the text, the way it would as if you had typed it there.

This is the "works as designed" behavior for Excel.

I do not know of an automatic way to resolve this without using VBA. The workaround is to select the entire worksheet, or just one row, then select Format, Autofit Row Height. If you are just adjusting one row, you can also double-click in the left column of row numbers, right on the boundary line underneath the row number. The cursor will change to a horizontal line with arrows going up and down when this option is available.

I could show you a VBA solution if you want to go that route. It would involve installing code that would do the Row Height adjustment every time a new description is entered on "Labour and Materials".
